Dan Issel's apology and four-game suspension for directing an ethnic slur at a heckler after the Denver Nuggets' home loss Tuesday failed to appease members of the city's Hispanic community.
Several prominent Hispanic business and community leaders said Wednesday that nothing less than Issel's resignation or firing from his roles as coach and president of the Nuggets will suffice.
Those leaders, who met at the Denver Hispanic Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday afternoon, insist they will organize a boycott against Kroenke Sports Enterprises if Stan Kroenke, who owns the Denver Nuggets, Colorado Avalanche and Pepsi Center, doesn't hand Issel his walking papers.
