It has been 10 days since the Heat held an off-day practice.
This week, though, an unforgiving schedule takes a forgiving turn. Over the next 11 days, the Heat has only three games.
Although coach Pat Riley said he welcomed the opportunity to get back to the practice court, he has no plans to overhaul his approach, as ineffective as it has proven.
"Adding more to the mix now is just showing the players that you can change, but it's not going to make it any better," Riley said before Saturday night's game against the Rockets at Compaq Center. "I think we have enough in for all of our key elements.
"It's not about putting in new stuff, it's about doing what you do better. And we'll work very hard on our execution."
Riley said this has not been the easiest group to deal with in terms of tweaking.
"This team has been challenged; it's been challenged from making adjustments and things of that nature," Riley said. "They don't respond well to a lot of change that way.
"They have to understand exactly what we worked on in practice."
