The 6-foot-9 Denver Nuggets forward's right leg is stronger than ever. But questions persist about his left knee, across which is a horizontal scar.

McDyess' left knee remains "weak," he said, and there still is no date on his return. After consulting with the Nuggets' training staff, the anxious 2000-01 all-star retracted a recent statement in which he said he could resume playing in early January.
