The Hawks did not draft Jason Terry to be a classic point guard. His college game at Arizona suggested he could be a scorer first, then a distributor.
Terry struggled to fulfill the basic requirements of the job at the point -- take care of the ball and play defense. Former coach Lenny Wilkens buried him his rookie year because the coach lacked the patience to let Terry learn on the job.
Slowly, but surely, everyone around the Hawks are coming to the same conclusion....Terry at the point...
