In so many ways, the Indiana Pacers are in transition.

Young players are emerging. Veterans are having to find new roles. They are becoming an uptempo team. And, most significant to this season, they're shifting the focus of their offense closer to the basket.

 




Jermaine O'Neal made that look like sound strategy on Friday, scoring a season-high 29 points in leading the Pacers to a 100-94 victory over New Jersey at Conseco Fieldhouse.
