Thursday, December 27, 2001 - At first, it seemed the biggest question for the Denver Nuggets would be whether coach Dan Issel still could command the respect of his players after returning from a four-game suspension for shouting an ethnically insensitive remark to a taunting fan.

That was two weeks ago.

 
Evans, right, is the assistant who filled in during Dan Issel's suspension. Evans was named the Nuggets' interim coach.  
"I guess it's not an issue now, is it?" Nuggets guard Tariq Abdul-Wahad said.

Not anymore.

Issel resigned Wednesday as the team's president and coach, leaving behind a more compelling question: What happens now?
