Tuesday, January 01, 2002 - After recently losing one Hall of Famer from the coaching staff, the Denver Nuggets on Monday added a future Hall of Famer as an assistant.

Former NBA great Clyde Drexler, who joined the Nuggets on Sept. 27 in a part-time role as a special assistant to general manager Kiki Vandeweghe, joins a staff led by interim coach Mike Evans.

"I like it. It gives me a chance to have a little more impact on the players," said Drexler, who retired from the NBA in 1998 and coached two seasons at the University of Houston before resigning to spend more time with his family. "I certainly feel I can offer a lot in that direction. It's actually fun. I want to enjoy it."
