There is no hope for professional basketball in Charlotte any longer, writes Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle. If Norfolk, Virginia, is the only viable solution and owners George Shinn and Ray Wooldridge are moving forward with it anyway, then no reconciliation is possible. Other candidate cities -- New Orleans, Louisville, Anaheim, St. Louis -- have one problem or other that leaves Norfolk miraculously in the running. If the Hornets were to go, they face losing perhaps $15 million a season until a new arena is built.
