Someone ought to bottle up whatever possesses these Chicago Bulls and sell it as magical slump-busting medicine.
If the Toronto Raptors thought they were struggling after losing to the Memphis Grizzlies, they can be thankful their next date was with the NBA's worst team.
With Antonio Davis breaking out of a shooting slump and the Bulls allowing Toronto to do pretty much anything it wanted, the Raptors got a reprieve from what's been ailing them in an 85-73 victory before a sullen crowd of 16,227 at the United Center.
But to suggest this was the turnaround the team has been hoping for is an overstatement. The 6-28 Bulls are the worst team in the league, caught between trying to rebuild, still, and relying on aging veterans like Charles Oakley.
And Toronto did manage to fritter a 14-point third-quarter lead into a two-point advantage with three minutes left in the game before steadying themselves thanks to an eight-point outburst from Alvin Williams.
