DALLAS -- They were on the verge of a most impressive victory.

They wound up with a most depressing defeat.

The Indiana Pacers squandered a hard-earned 15-point third-quarter lead with a collapse that spanned both ends of the court Saturday in a 111-102 loss to Dallas at American Airlines Center.

The Mavericks, the NBA's highest-scoring team, finished with a 39-point fourth-quarter blitz, but that was only half of the problem for the Pacers.
