The Dallas Mavericks and Dallas Stars are both worth a lot more than they were a year ago, Forbes magazine says in its Feb. 4 issue.

The Mavericks ranked 15th in the National Basketball Association at $211 million, up 26 percent from $167 million last year.

Mark Cuban bought the team in 2000 for $280 million.

The Stars stood at seventh among National Hockey League teams in franchise value at $207 million, up 14 percent from $182 million last year.

Tom Hicks, who also owns the Texas Rangers, bought the Stars for $84 million in 1995.
