Free-throw shooting is a statistic that has been charted at practice since Rick Carlisle's first day as coach of the Pistons. Saturday night against the Cleveland Cavaliers, it paid off.

The Pistons had season highs of 51 attempts and 42 makes for 82.4 percent in the 115-107 victory, their fourth straight on the road. The Pistons are 10-14 on the road, not bad for a team that lost 11 straight away from the Palace during one stretch this season.

Carlisle said the free throws were a result of Cleveland's defensive disposition.

"I think we were aggressive, but they were picking us up full court, and we were meeting their force and forcing them to foul," Carlisle said. "The big key was Stack shot a lot of free throws (8-for-9), (Zeljko) Rebraca (8-for-10) and Corliss (Williamson, 9-for-12) were very aggressive on the inside, which made them foul. We were able to make a lot of them."
