It's like that last exam before spring break. The Pistons are eager to get away and enjoy their three-day All-Star vacation, but they also know they have some unfinished business tonight with the Clippers.
"Everybody pretty much looks forward to the break, but at the same time, we have to stay focused on what needs to get done," Cliff Robinson said. "It would be nice to end on a win, especially against that team. ... We would like to get one back for the loss they gave us over in L.A."
Yeah, that loss. It was Dec. 16 and it was the start of a five-game West Coast trip. The Pistons were 14-6 and, up 13 points with 9:18 left and seemed on their way to win No. 15.
"That was the game that started our downward slide," Michael Curry said.
The Pistons blew that game and went on to lose 13 of the next 16. They have recovered nicely, winning eight of the last 10. They are 25-21 and have a chance to go into the break five games above .500 for the first time since the 1996-1997 season when they were 34-12 and en route to a 54-win season.
