ESPN.com reports that Minnesota Timberwolves guard Terrell Brandon went back on the injured list for the second time this season... and may be done for the season.

The team said Brandon will have arthroscopic surgery -- his second operation this season -- to repair a cartilage fracture on the surface of his left femur.

No timetable was given for his return, but Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor said he was worried about Brandon's status.

"We now know it's far more serious than we first thought," Taylor said. "There is a possibility that he may be out for the season."

The loss of Brandon is yet another setback for the Wolves, who had been linked to the Nick Van Exel rumors. Any deal to acquire Van Exel would undoubtedly have included Brandon. Unless Kiki Vandeweghe is dying to acquire an oft-injured guard with aspirations of easing into a reserve role at the ripe age of 31, talks may be dead.
