Hypothetical scenario.  There is 1.2 seconds left on the clock, you are down 1.  Your teammates are anxious, everyone is waiting to see what you do.. it is money time.  So what do you do?  Do you backup your talk and come through for your team?  Not if your name is Nick Van Exel.

For weeks Nick 'The Quick' has said that if traded to a team of his choice, even handed a list of destinations to Nuggets GM Kiki Vandeweghe, but Tuesday ESPN's David Aldridge reported that Van Exel is not going to completely opt out of the last two years of his contract.

"We're not giving up the last two years," his agent, Tony Dutt, told Aldridge. "In all honesty, that's more me than Nick. Nick asked me my opnion and I gave it to him. I just think that's too big a risk."

It is reported, however, that Van Exel is willing to re-negotiate his contract, but this can only be done between March 1 through June 30, and this can only be done is the team is under the cap.
