The Indianapolis Star is reporting that the agent everyone seems to hate, David Falk, has renewed his war with an old enemy. The Pacers Isiah Thomas was trashed by Falk for his handling of the Jalen Rose situation in a conference call to five reporters. It would appear that Falk is just renewing his feud with Thomas for a series of perceived injustices from other situations between the two.
Falk has been critical of Thomas for years, for factors ranging from Thomas' performance as president of the NBA Players Association to the trade that sent Adrian Dantley (a Falk client) to Dallas for Mark Aguirre in 1989 when Thomas played for the Pistons.
Agents' fees were reduced during Thomas' reign, and the Pistons won their first of two consecutive NBA titles at the end of the season in which Dantley was traded for Aguirre.
This time, Falk is saying that Isiah drove wedges between Rose and the younger players, unfairly cut Rose's playing time and, probably, if given enough time, he would have criticized Isiah for not washing Jalen's car. Judging from Peter Vecsey's rant on Falk on last night's Inside the NBA you'd have to guess that Falk's getting a lot of snickers in GM's offices around the league today.
