Guard David Wesley came off the injured list Thursday and may get some playing time today when the Hornets face the Boston Celtics at the FleetCenter.

"We'll play him sparingly for now," coach Paul Silas said. "He'll probably back up the starters at both guard positions and play maybe six minutes each half. We'll work gradually from there and see how it goes."

Wesley, a starter at wing guard before he suffered a cracked bone in his left foot, has not played since Jan. 29 and has missed 13 games. He was given medical clearance last weekend to resume practice and has had two full workouts since, on Tuesday and Thursday.

"He said he was ready to go after practice today," Hornets vice president Bob Bass said Thursday. "He told (Silas) that he was feeling good and asked to be activated before the Celtics' game."

Jamal Mashburn has been starting at Wesley's guard spot.
