The Chicago Bulls today waived point guard Greg Anthony, trimming their roster down to 13 players.  The move came in light of an agreement between Anthony and the organization where Anthony would reduce what the Bulls owe him for this season and next (he was due to make $3M next season) so he could sign with a contender.  Today (March 1) is the deadline for teams to waive players so they could be eligable for playoff action.

Milwaukee, Minnesota and Indiana are all possibilities for Anthony.

The move now makes room for point guard Jamal Crawford to appear on the active roster, the dynamic guard many suspect will be the Bulls best player.  Crawford has been out for the whole season with a torn ACL, but his recouperation has been well above schedule and he is expected to be back Sunday against the New Jersey Nets.

"He's pretty close," Cartwright said. "We feel he needs another practice to get his legs. At this point in the season there's no point doing anything silly with him. When we do bring him back it will be for short minutes."
