The Nets are winning, there is no doubt, and second year phenom Kenyon Martin is a huge reason for that. But if you were asked to name one thing that has changed the most from his rookie year to his sophmore, 9 times out of 10 people will say he is much more aggressive. But how much is too much?
Fred Kerber of the New York Post is reporting that Martin picked up his fourth flagarant of the season in yesterday's win over the Chicago Bulls when he lowered his shoulder and elbow into the chest of rookie Eddy Curry at 9:40 of the third quarter. The problem is that two of his foul flagarants have been of type 2, the sixth flagarant point and every one thereafter carries a one game suspension (type 2 carry two points, type 1 carry one meaning Martin's foul on Curry was his sixth).
"I got elbowed twice. They don't see anything on those two," Martin said. "Whatever happens, happens. Nothing I can do about it."
The Nets are set to tackle a Kobe-less Lakers (well, sort of if you saw Shaq coming out to introductions in Kobe's jersey yesterday), and will most likely be without the services of center Todd MacCulloch as well.
