Coaches will say the refs do their best in a difficult job, and even mean it from time to time, especially after a nice victory when they didn't believe too many calls went against them.
But there's no denying coaches flinch when certain officiating crews enter the building.
There's also no doubt some coaches and management personnel (and players) are convinced particular refs don't like them and savor any opportunity to blow a whistle and hurl a technical.
We've all seen the coaching antics, and we've seen horrendous eruptions after calls.
One wonders at times exactly what the coach is screaming about, whether it's the accuracy of the call itself, or whether it's the consistency of the enforcement.
