Forgive Mavericks fans if they let loose with a chorus of 'Beat LA! Beat LA!' when Dallas plays host to the Los Angeles Clippers at 8 tonight.
That's because the Clippers are one of only five teams the Mavericks have yet to beat at American Airlines Center. The other four are San Antonio, Philadelphia, Miami and Washington.
The Clippers hold a 2-1 edge over the Mavericks this season. They body-slammed the Mavericks in Dallas 117-100 on Jan. 29, then thumped them in LA 119-110 on Feb. 16.
"The Clippers are good, that's the bottom line," Mavericks coach Don Nelson said. "And when they're healthy, they're as good as anybody.
"The only time we beat them [133-112 in LA on Jan. 26] we put in a zone and they didn't handle it very well."
