As anyone who has watched "It's A Wonderful Life" can tell you, one life can impact many others. And sometimes, one limb in one life can be the entire reason for the impact. We're thinking now about Terrell Brandon's left leg. When Brandon needed surgery in February to mend fractured cartilage on his femur, a number of lives were affected.
Every member of the Timberwolves was touched in some way. With Brandon, their starting point guard, injured, it meant more playing time for Chauncey Billups. The injury also meant the Wolves weren't as deep at point guard, and this deficiency might have led to their seven-game losing streak in March.
And it could be why they skidded in the standings.
And why Robert Pack was able to get back into the NBA.
And why Nick Van Exel plays for the Dallas Mavericks instead of the Wolves.
