The stakes are much lower for Toronto Raptors general manager Glen Grunwald this summer.
A year ago, he faced an off-season of uncertainty over the future of Vince Carter, Antonio Davis, Jerome Williams and Alvin Williams and pulled off a stunning quad by getting all of them signed to long-term contracts.
And while not to belittle the likes of Keon Clark, Chris Childs and Dell Curry, there isn't the same sense of urgency, or possible doom, hovering over the organization's long-term health this time around.
Clark, Childs and Curry are the three key free agents Grunwald and the team's ownership must deal with now that the season has ended with last night's 85-82 Game 5 loss to the Detroit Pistons here.
