These days player movement has become the norm in the NBA, but how often do we take time to think how the actual players involved feel?  Sure we can sit back and say "but they make $x while I only make $y", but surely these guys feel the same emotions as we do.

Take Rodney White for example.  White, selected ninth overall in the 2001 NBA draft by the Detroit Pistons, was traded to the Denver Nuggets this offseason.  The knock on White was that he was too raw, that he would not pay dividends for the Pistons any time soon.

Thus far White has been rather passive, a trait which many claim is not related to inability or lazyness.

"When he is in the gym, he works hard and works on his skills," said former Pistons guard Jerry Stackhouse, now with Washington. "But it's not just going in the gym and shooting shots. All that stuff is good, but it's something else. I always just told him he needs to be a little bit more aggressive, but that is not really his game. His game is not built on speed.

"He's a guy that's always had the ball. It's kind of difficult for him to adjust to being a role player. He needs to be in a situation where he is able to get touches, able to play out of the post and use his strengths."

"It's about playing and getting that opportunity," Stackhouse said. "(White) never really got that in Detroit. We were a veteran team, we were trying to win games and we didn't make a lot of mistakes."

While the Denver Post reports that White isn't sure whether he'll prove the skeptics wrong today or tomorrow, one thing he is sure of is that he will.

"Do I feel any pressure? At this point no because (a star) is the type of player that I believe I want to be and believe I will do that," said White, who scored a career-high eight points in his first action of the season Tuesday night during a 103-87 loss to Atlanta. "All my life I have been going through trials and tribulations and uphill battles, and I've always done pretty good. It might take longer than I want or everyone else wants, but I'm going to be OK."

"I want to prove to people that I'm a hard worker, I'm dedicated to this game and I love this game," he said.
