Brad Weinstein of the San Francisco Chronicle reports that Golden State second round draft pick Steve Logan may play this season? just not as a Warrior. A source close to the unsigned draftee says that he is exploring his option in Europe (most likely Poland or Spain).

If Logan sits out the entire season, he will be eligible to re-enter the draft in 2003. If he plays professional ball overseas, the Warriors will retain his draft rights.

Logan is said to be fully recovered from the right foot sprain that hampered contract negotiations last summer. With  Earl Boykins and Bob Sura backing up Gilbert Arenas at point guard, there is a better chance of his draft rights being traded before the deadline than him signing with the Warriors.

Arenas and Sura have guaranteed contracts. Boykins was signed to a non-guaranteed contract, but his stellar play off the bench has landed him a season-long job with the Warriors. All of which leaves Logan the odd man out.
