The Portland Trailblazers suspended guard Bonzi Wells for one game prior to last night's game against the Seattle Supersonics for what the team called 'basketball related matters', a move which upset coach Mo Cheeks despite him being the one who issued the sentence.

"It's a little disturbing when trying to push for a playoff spot or a home-court spot and you're trying to get your team focused in the right direction," Cheeks said. "It's a little disappointing, but we have to deal with it."

The other Portland players didn't appear suprised with the move, and the team believes it will be a one-off situation.  Wells had already been suspended twice this season by the NBA; serving a one-game suspension in November for spitting on San Antonio's Danny Ferry and a two-game ban in December for his role in a fight with Golden State.
