It happens at the start of every Pistons home game, and usually a few more times that night. The loudspeakers start booming, and everybody in the Palace knows the words . . .
Dooo dodo do doooo Dododo do doooo . . . In Ann Arbor, they play "The Victors." In East Lansing, "MSU Fight Song." In Auburn Hills, it's "The Final Countdown," which came out in 1987 and still inspires the Pistons (or at least their fans) today.
"The Final Countdown" is a can of musical Red Bull. By the end of the song, you feel like you can jump over a building, pull a helicopter out of the sky and get the girl. If everybody set their alarm clocks to "The Final Countdown," nobody would be late for work.
