Jim Stack, an assistant coach for the Pacers the past three seasons, will interview for a similar position in Chicago today.
Stack worked 13 years for the Bulls before joining Thomas' coaching staff, most recently as assistant vice president of basketball operations. His family has continued to live in the Chicago area while he worked for the Pacers.
The Pacers have an opening after losing assistant Brendan Malone, who returned to the New York Knicks' coaching staff.
Walsh said no decision has been made on a replacement for Malone, or whether one or two replacements will be hired if Stack also leaves.
