In 13 years of working in the front office of the Milwaukee Bucks, Larry Harris has seen plenty.

He's seen the low lows of the early and middle '90s when the Bucks found themselves in the lottery seven consecutive years.

And he saw the high of 2001 when the Bucks came one victory short of reaching the NBA Finals.

He's also seen the many in-betweens.

Now, Harris is in the hot seat. He'll have all of the things he's seen as a reference point. But what might matter most if Harris is to succeed as the Bucks' new general manager is what he can foresee.

So to speak, Harris' ability to see two and three moves ahead will determine where the Bucks go from here. So what is his vision for the Bucks beginning with the 2003-'04 season?

"Obviously, the ultimate goal is to win," Harris said. "That's what we want to do. Year in and year out, we want to be a playoff contender. We want to put ourselves in a position each year to be in the playoffs and go further each year as we go.
