Timberwolves Vice President of Basketball Operations/General Manager Kevin McHale today announced the team has rescinded its qualifying offer to restricted free-agent guard Mike Wilks, making him an unrestricted free agent under the rules of the collective bargaining agreement.

"This is a move that was made following a request by Mike," said McHale. "Mike is now free to sign with any team, and we wish him the best of luck."

Wilks signed a 10-day contract with Minnesota on Feb. 12 and then signed for the remainder of the season on Feb. 22. He played in 31 of the final 32 games for the Wolves during his rookie campaign, averaging 2.0 points, 1.0 rebounds and 1.6 assists while logging 10.5 minutes per game. He posted eight points on March 16 vs. Portland and dealt a game-high eight assists on Feb. 19 at Denver.
