Clippers coach Mike Dunleavy Sr. won the NBA's first official father-son matchup in 27 years when Los Angeles beat Golden State 104-98 on Friday night. Dunleavy Jr., the Warriors' second-year forward, finished with a season-low seven points on 2-for-10 shooting. A father coached against his son for only the second time in NBA history. The last time was Nov. 9, 1976, when Jan van Breda Kolff started for the New York Nets and his father, Butch, coached the New Orleans Jazz.
STRONG IN DEFEAT
Tracy McGrady scored 51 points but Orlando lost to Denver 106-101 Friday night. McGrady was 20-for-30, including 8-of-11 from 3-point range. ... Tim Duncan had 35 points and 15 rebounds in San Antonio's 100-96 loss to Philadelphia. Duncan scored 14 straight points for the Spurs during one stretch, including their first nine of the third quarter. ... Allan Houston scored 20 of his 31 points in the second half of New York's 85-80 loss to New Jersey. ... Stephon Marbury had 33 points in Phoenix's 90-85 loss to Houston.
STREAKS
Cleveland lost its 27th straight road game Friday night, 91-82 to Boston. ... After a 105-101 overtime win over Washington, Miami has won back-to-back games for the first time since last December. Eddie Jones scored 27 points for the Heat and has scored 20 or more in his last seven games. ... Los Angeles' 94-89 win over Detroit was the Lakers' 19th in a row at home stretching back to last February.
