WASHINGTON (AP) Malik Rose scored 23 points, Tim Duncan had 17, and the San Antonio Spurs overcame a lethargic start at the end of a road trip to beat the Washington Wizards 95-71 Saturday night.

Duncan and the Spurs were sloppy early on, but San Antonio's defense shut down Washington over the final three quarters to make the game a rout.

Duncan, who committed four turnovers in the first quarter, added 13 rebounds for the Spurs, who went 2-1 on their swing through New Jersey, Philadelphia and Washington. Rose was 10-for-15 from the field, scoring 15 points in the second half.

Gilbert Arenas scored 14 points on 4-for-19 shooting to lead the Wizards, who have lost four straight.

Nets 100, Hawks 85

ATLANTA (AP) Kenyon Martin scored 11 of his 23 points in the third quarter, helping New Jersey pull away.

Winning his matchup with Hawks forward Shareef Abdur-Rahim, who was held to 12 points on 3-of-12 shooting, Martin was a force inside with 14 rebounds. Jason Kidd added 21 points and Richard Jefferson had 14 for New Jersey.

The Hawks led by seven points midway through the second period before a scoring drought cost them the lead. Jason Terry finished with 24 points, and Dion Glover and Nazr Mohammed each added 13 for Atlanta.

Pacers 95, Knicks 94

NEW YORK (AP) Jermaine O'Neal put back a miss with three seconds left and Reggie Miller looked like his old self at Madison Square Garden, scoring a season-high 31 points.

O'Neal made up for an otherwise poor game by grabbing Anthony Johnson's missed 3-pointer and hitting a short jumper over Dikembe Mutombo for the win.

Miller, who didn't have a 30-point game last season, scored 18 points in the first half and made three 3-pointers in the fourth quarter as the Pacers rebounded from a dreadful third quarter to hand the Knicks their fourth straight loss.

Cavaliers 91, 76ers 88, OT

CLEVELAND (AP) Zydrunas Ilgauskas scored 28 points and had a key putback, assist and block in overtime as the Cavaliers snapped a 16-game losing streak against Philadelphia.

Rookie LeBron James had 22 points, eight assists, five rebounds and a huge block with 11 seconds left in overtime. The 7-foot-3 Ilgauskas added eight rebounds and a career-high seven assists for the Cavs, who hadn't beaten the Sixers since April 2, 1999 at Philadelphia.

The Sixers played without their starting frontcourt for the second straight game as Derrick Coleman, Glenn Robinson and Kenny Thomas all sat out with injuries. Allen Iverson, the NBA's leading scorer, had 19 points on 8-of-29 shooting.

Hornets 101, Trail Blazers 79

NEW ORLEANS (AP) Baron Davis sparked a decisive run and finished with 23 points and eight assists to lift the Hornets over the Trail Blazers.

Darrell Armstrong came off the bench to add 20, including four 3-pointers, and had three of his team's 10 steals as the Hornets snapped Portland's three-game winning streak and dropped the Blazers to 0-3 on the road.

Steve Smith scored 13 for the Hornets to help New Orleans' reserves score 37 points. New Orleans, shooting and making 3-pointers at a franchise-record pace under new coach Tim Floyd, were 9-of-19 from long range.
