DALLAS (AP) Make it 19 losses in a row for the Orlando Magic, who are closing in on the NBA record for consecutive defeats.

Antoine Walker had 24 points and 16 rebounds and Michael Finley added 22 points to lead the Dallas Mavericks to a 110-97 win Saturday night.

With Dallas playing its fifth game in eight days, all without injured Dirk Nowitzki, coach Don Nelson took advantage of the woeful Magic by mixing players in and out of the lineup. The chemistry may not have always been right, but the Mavericks didn't need much.

The single-season NBA record for consecutive losses is 23 by the Vancouver Grizzlies in 1995-96 and the Denver Nuggets in 1997-98. The overall record is 24 by the Cleveland Cavaliers at the end of 1981-82 and the start of the following season. Orlando's next four games are against Phoenix, Washington, New Jersey and Atlanta.

Spurs 86, Heat 70

MIAMI (AP) Tim Duncan beat the halftime buzzer with his second 3-pointer of the season, finishing with 21 points and 19 rebounds.

Coming off an 11-point victory in Orlando on Friday night that snapped a four-game losing streak, the Spurs got a season-high 21 points and 13 rebounds from Rasho Nesterovic and 11 assists from Tony Parker.

San Antonio hadn't beaten the Magic and Heat on the same trip since January,1998.

Lamar Odom had 17 points to lead Miami, which equaled its lowest scoring output of the season. The Heat also scored 70 points at Houston on Nov. 11.

Nets 99, Suns 88

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) Kenyon Martin scored 21 points and pulled down 12 rebounds, helping New Jersey win consecutive home games for the first time this season.

Richard Jefferson had 18 points and 11 rebounds for the Nets, who had six players in double figures. Jason Kidd had 17, Jason Collins and Aaron Williams scored 13 each and Lucious Harris 10.

The Nets played before a sparse crowd for a second straight night because of a snowstorm. The attendance was announced as 14,639, but the actual turnout was closer to 5,000.

Shawn Marion paced the Suns with 25 points and 17 rebounds. Stephon Marbury had 23 and Jake Voskuhl added 14 before fouling out. The Suns played without Amare Stoudemire, who sprained his left ankle Friday night in Boston and will miss the remainder of Phoenix's road trip.

Cavaliers 95, Hawks 85

CLEVELAND (AP) Jason Kapono, the Cavaliers' less-hyped rookie, scored 16 points and Darius Miles added 15 as Cleveland snapped an eight-game losing streak.

Zydrunas Ilgauskas added 19 points and eight rebounds for the Cavs, whose reserves led them to just their fifth win _ their first since beating the Los Angeles Clippers on Nov. 18.

The Cavs withstood a season-high, 43-point effort from Atlanta's Shareef Abdur-Rahim. Abdur-Rahim added 12 rebounds and Jason Terry had 14 points for Atlanta, which has dropped four straight and six of seven.

LeBron James had only eight points, six rebounds and five assists. But Cleveland's rookie star made a big steal late in the game, picking Abdur-Rahim clean and hitting a layup with 2:57 left to help the Cavs hang on.

Hornets 97, Bulls 91

CHICAGO (AP) The New Orleans Hornets made Tim Floyd a winner in his first trip back to Chicago since leaving the Bulls as Darrell Armstrong scored a season-high 23 points and David Wesley added 20.

Jamal Crawford scored 23 of his 28 points in the fourth quarter, but it wasn't enough to keep Chicago from its ninth loss in 10 games. Antonio Davis had a double-double with 15 rebounds and 11 points, and Eddy Curry had 11 points and 10 rebounds before fouling out.

This wasn't Floyd's first game against the team he coached for three-plus seasons. The Bulls beat the Hornets in an exhibition game and then again last month.

Both of those games were in New Orleans, though, making this Floyd's first trip back to Chicago since he resigned Dec. 24, 2001, with a dismal 49-190 record. The crowd booed when Floyd was introduced before the game.

Rockets 86, Pistons 80

HOUSTON (AP) Yao Ming grabbed a career-high 20 rebounds and scored 22 points, and five Rockets scored in double figures.

Yao, who has scored in double figures in all 19 of Houston's games, recorded his 11th double-double of the season while surpassing his previous career-high in rebounds by one.

Michael Redd had 28 points, and Desmond Mason added 19 for Milwaukee but missed 10 of 17 free throws. Rookie T.J. Ford had career highs of 16 points and 12 assists
