LOS ANGELES (AP) Olden Polynice was activated by the Clippers on Tuesday after playing just one game this season and twice going on the injured list with a strained neck.

The Clippers also placed Melvyn Ely on the injured list. He has the flu and won't eligible to play until Jan. 3 against Sacramento.

Polynice signed with the Clippers as a free agent on Aug. 4. The 7-footer had two rebounds, one assist and one steal against Cleveland on Dec. 3 in his lone game this season.

In his 15th NBA season, Polynice has career averages of 7.8 points and 6.7 rebounds.

Ely, in his second season, sat out the Clippers' 115-105 victory at Dallas on Saturday night. He is averaging 4.1 points and 3.3 rebounds.
