DALLAS (AP) Dallas rookie guard Josh Howard will not play Monday night against the Utah Jazz because of a strained left hamstring.

Howard said he was unsure how the injury occurred, but thinks he was kicked in the leg going for a rebound during the third quarter of Dallas' 119-112 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday night.

The rookie from Wake Forest had 13 points and seven rebounds when he was injured.
