New York acquired forward Tim Thomas from Milwaukee in a three-way deal that also involved Atlanta. The Knicks sent Keith Van Horn to the Bucks and received center Nazr Mohammed from Atlanta, while the Hawks acquired Michael Doleac from the Knicks and Joel Przybilla from Milwaukee. New York also sent a 2005 second-round draft pick to Atlanta.

Jamaal Magloire led the East with 19 points in his first All-Star appearance, a 136-132 loss to the West on Sunday night. Jason Kidd had a double-double with 14 points and 10 assists.
