OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) Jason Kidd sat out his third straight game Friday night, missing the New Jersey Nets' meeting with Golden State because of a bone bruise in his left knee.

Kidd, a seven-time All-Star, was hurt in a game against the Los Angeles Lakers last week. He has missed the first three games of the Nets' four-game West Coast road trip.

Kidd had hoped to return in Oakland, his hometown _ but he didn't feel ready after the team's morning shootaround, coach Lawrence Frank said. Lucious Harris started in Kidd's place.

The Nets have lost three of five following a 14-game winning streak.

Golden State rookie forward Mickael Pietrus got his first NBA start as Mike Dunleavy was moved to point guard. Warriors guards Speedy Claxton and Nick Van Exel are out with injuries.
