NEW YORK (AP) No team forces turnovers, blocks shots and comes up with steals like the Grizzlies. Memphis demonstrated its league-leading prowess in all three categories while trouncing the New York Knicks 111-97 Wednesday night.

Memphis scored 27 points off 16 first-half turnovers, taking control early against an injury-ravaged Knicks team that was without Allan Houston (bruised quadriceps) and Tim Thomas (strained groin).

Pau Gasol scored 23 points for the Grizzlies, whose 21-5 record since Feb. 1 is the league's best. Coach Hubie Brown improved to 73-72 since taking over as coach early last season.

Stephon Marbury had 23 points and 10 assists for New York, which remained in seventh place in the East.
