The Toronto Raptors signed first-round draft choice Rafael Araujo, the 6-11 center who was selected eighth overall.

Financial details were not released but under the salary cap, Araujo would receive a three-year contract at $6.7 million.

Araujo will play summer league ball in Minneapolis from July 6-10.

"We are excited to sign Rafael and have him join our summer league team," Raptors general manager Rob Babcock said. "This will be a good opportunity to expose him to our basketball philosophy."

The native Brazilian was co-Mountain West player of the year last season after leading Brigham Young with 18.4 points and 10.1 rebounds per game.
