The New Jersey Nets may be without their star point guard Jason Kidd for a substantial portion of next season.  With that threat looming, they are looking toward 5?11? point guard Travis Best to fill the potential void.

"We're just trying to do our due diligence, checking around on the players still available," Thorn said of the interest in Best, who turned 32 in July. "So we're going to check him out."

Though the deal is not immanent, the Nets are showing a lot of interest.
