College Sports Television will announce today that Dave Checketts, the former Madison Square Garden president, and the hedge-fund management company of the billionaire George Soros will invest $25 million in the network, according to an executive involved in the deal.

Checketts will also become the network's co-chairman in charge of its expansion into regional sports networks for college conferences.
