The Chicago Bulls are set to waive ex-Timberwolf Gary Trent later this week, the Chicago Tribune is reporting.

The Bulls officially will announce Trent's release later this week, but league sources indicated the team asked him to leave over the weekend and then explained his absence was for "personal reasons."

The real reason, according to Tribune writer K.C. Johnson, was Trent's physical shape and his attitude towards the younger players.

Even bigger concerns for the Bulls is what they will do with disappointing forward Eddie Robinson, who continues to waste away on the sidelines in Chicago.  GM John Paxson would have a hard time persuading owner Jerry Reinsdorf to sign off on the final two years and $14 million owing on Robinson's contract, but it is possible Robinson will spend the entire season buried on the injured list and not even travel with the team.
