The Warriors' Jason Richardson missed practice on Thursday to have his swollen right hand examined.

Richardson traveled to Los Angeles on Thursday morning and met with Dr. Robert Chandler at the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopedic Clinic. There was no immediate word from the Warriors on the severity of the injury. The team listed its top scorer as questionable for Saturday's game against Memphis at the Arena in Oakland.

During a five-game road trip that ended Monday, Richardson said he had been playing with a sore hand since a Nov. 5 loss to Utah. Richardson stated that the pain was not affecting his performance, though at times he had been taping together his fourth and fifth fingers.

"I'm out there so that means I'm healthy enough to play,'' he said. "I'm trying to work through it.''

Richardson aggravated the injury in the closing seconds of the first half against Chicago on Wednesday. He was leading a fast break when Chris Duhon came from behind and knocked the ball out of his right hand.

Coach Mike Montgomery quickly called a 20-second timeout, but Richardson stayed in the game and finished the half with a 3-pointer from the right corner. Richardson logged a game-high 40 minutes in the Warriors' 98-85 victory.

The Warriors' top scorer has connected on 34-for-70 (48.6 percent) from the field the last three games after hitting 31-for-95 (32.6 percent) the first six games. He is averaging 18.1 points on 39.4 percent shooting.

Richardson has missed three games because of injury in three-plus seasons.

If Richardson misses a few games due to injury, it couldn't have happened at a better time, with Mickael Pietrus coming off the injured list.
