The Denver Nuggets have signed G/F Wesley Person to a contract, team General Manager Kiki Vandeweghe announced today.  Per team policy, terms of the deal were not released.

?We are very fortunate to be able to add a proven shooter like Wesley to our team,? said Vandeweghe.  ?We believe he will be a great addition.?

Person, 6-6, 200, appeared in 16 games for the Miami Heat this year and averaged 3.9 ppg in 12.9 mpg before being waived on March 1.  The 11-year veteran has averaged 11.3 ppg in 708 career games with Phoenix (1994-97), Cleveland (?97-02), Memphis (?02-04), Portland (?03-04), Atlanta (?03-04) and Miami (?04-05).  He enjoyed his best season in ?01-02, averaging 15.1 ppg with the Cavaliers, while shooting a career-high .444 (143-322) from three-point range.  In 23 career postseason games, Person has averaged 11.4 ppg, while shooting .373 (47-126) from beyond the arc.
Person, a career .416 (1,117-2,686) shooter from three-point territory,  led the NBA in three-pointers made in ?97-98 with 192.  His 1,117 three-pointers made rank 21st in NBA history and eighth among active players.

In an additional move, the Nuggets placed G Luis Flores on the injured list due to a strained right hamstring.  Flores was acquired from Golden State on Feb. 24 and has appeared in one game for the Nuggets, scoring three points.
