Ray Allen suffered a bad sprained ankle on Sunday, but the Sonics still got the win over the Lakers, leaving Coach Nate McMillan very satisfied.

"I'm not even thinking about that right now," McMillan said when asked about Allen's injury. "You're getting bit by the injury bug with so many guys hurt and out, missing games. The thing is, we found a way."

Allen injured his ankle midway through the first period. He went up for a driving layin that he missed hard off the front of the rim. He came down between two Lakers, and it appeared he twisted the ankle as he tried to jump up for the rebound. Allen stayed in the game until there was 2:12 left in the first.

Allen missed the final three periods, and though he told a team spokesperson that X-rays of his ankle showed nothing more serious than a sprain, he left the team's locker room on a motorized cart. McMillan said Allen had the ankle retaped in an effort to play in the second half but couldn't. His injury will be re-evaluated on Monday.
