"My options are always open," Amare Stoudemire told USA Today this week when asked about his Suns future beyond the expiration of his contract at the close of the 2005-06 season.

That was enough to jar every die-hard and new fan of the NBA?s most exciting team.

On Aug 1, Phoenix will have exclusive rights to sign Stoudemire to a long-term extension.  If he chooses to pass, Amare will become a restricted free agent which means the Suns can match any offer given to him.  With his physical play and soft touch, the youngster might be the most coveted big man in the league today.

So what does he think about being a career Sun?

"It's something I'm not really focusing on because it's almost a given," Stoudemire said.

"I'm not really thinking about that too much right now. We've got a lot in store. We're trying to win a championship this year."
