Chicago Bulls rookie forward Luol Deng will visit a hand specialist at Rush University Medical Center today after an MRI performed yesterday revealed a ligament injury to his right wrist. Deng will not accompany the team to Miami.
The injury originally occurred in Chicago?s 94-86 victory over Memphis on March 28 at the United Center. Deng left that game at the 7:41 mark of the second quarter after he injured his right wrist and did not return to action. He played in the Bulls? wins at Charlotte (03/30) and at home against Cleveland (03/31), but sat out last Saturday?s win over Charlotte (04/02), bothered by the injury.
Deng, 6-8, 220, has appeared in 61 games, including 45 starts, for the Bulls this season. He is averaging 11.7 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 2.2 apg and 27.3 mpg.
