The Milwaukee Bucks have filled one of their three assistant coach openings with the signing of Mike Sanders to a two-year deal.

Sanders has been assistant coach and director of player personnel for the Asheville (N.C.) Altitude of the National Basketball Development League the past four seasons.

Last year, Sanders was past over for an assistant coaching job with the Bucks for the recently fired Jerome Kersey.

Coach Terry Porter is happy to have Sanders on his staff.

"I've competed against Mike, and he was always a hard-working player," Porter said. "I'm comfortable with him, and this will give him an opportunity to get back into the league."
