The Pistons on Monday unveiled revamped logos for the 2005-06 season that incorporate the word "Detroit" and eliminate representations of horses and horsepower.
The team's new primary logo will be at center court at the Palace. The secondary logo, which incorporates a "D" inside the letter "P," will appear on the uniform shorts.
The logos are in red, white and blue.
Detroit's management said Hooper, the team's mascot since 1996, will remain despite the change. A petition drive that led to the collection of 5,000 signatures swayed the team to keep the horse mascot.
