Shaquille O'Neal said there still are players on the market that can help the Heat. One of them is veteran Gary Payton, whom O'Neal said has had discussions with the Heat.

O'Neal convinced Payton to sign with the Lakers at a discount two seasons ago. The Lakers went on to lose to Detroit in the Finals.

"We would love to have Gary down here," O'Neal said. "Gary is [37] years old, but he is still tenacious on defense. I know he still wants [a championship], and I am the only guy in the world that can give him one."
